Do Some Planning About Your Hotel Choice When Going To See Destinations On Your Southern California Vacation

If you have not traveled by Amtrak  for a vacation, perhaps it is time to to give it some consideration. Many North American destination cities are easily accessible by train. Given how beautiful and interesting our country is, the trip itself can be a big part of the total enjoyment.

Of all the many great vacation destinations accessible by train, San Diego must be near the top of the list.  The train runs right into the middle of town, with easy local public transportation available to take you to your choice of many San Diego hotels, and most of the attractions.  Compared to areas within SoCal, San Diego is in fact comparatively close together. You can even get around to a lot of vacation attractions by walking if you enjoy that.

Now, there’s a good chance that it is very important to take in the excitement of roller coasters and other thrill rides.  Here we’re speaking of Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain (aka Magic Mountain to the locals). According to the SoCal Vacation Guru website, these parks have made roller coasters a strong priority in competing against The Mouse.

Magic Mountain is crazy with wild coasters; the place is lousy with thrill rides. Check out the SoCal Vacation Guru for more information about the park, as there’s lots more to do there besides roller coasters (for the rest of your group who may not be coaster fanatics).

Knott’s Berry Farm also has really focused on thrill rides, although they offer Camp Snoopy, Ghost Town and many other fun attractions and themed areas within the park. My daughter worked on the new Silver Bullet ride and she says that is one of several coasters that will really help you lose your dinner.

The first place we think of is Disneyland, the hangout for Mickey, Donald and all their buddies. If you’d like some good information about planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, check out the SoCal Vacation Guru, which can fill you in on hotels near Disneyland and other places. Disney has no-doubt done the most effective job of bringing imaginary characters to life, much to the delight of us all.

Universal Studios up in Hollywood would be a good next stop in your vacation, where you can chill with the likes of Homer Simpson, the Flintstones and Rubbles, Betty Boop and Spiderman. Pick up some useful information and tips about Universal Studios and other southern California hotels from the SoCal Vacation Guru.

Be sure to make reservations at a well-located hotel, regardless of how you plan to spend your vacation time.  You will spend way more time than you expected traveling around Southern California if you goof up the selection of your hotel.  Who wants to waste precious vacation time on needless driving?
