Experience the right Nebraska vacation and rest for some solitude

Idea #1: In 2001 the name of the museum was changed to the current Strategic Air & Space Museum, reflecting the museum’s past with a look toward the future as well. The majority of the aircraft collection at the museum are housed inside two aircraft display hangars. The Strategic Air & Space Museum offers up its facilities for meetings of all kinds. Limited facilities for lesser amounts of people are available during the public hours of the museum. Children under 5 and members of the museum are admitted free.

Idea #2:  Great Platte River Road Archway Monument – Kearney, Nebraska. The monument is a 1,500-ton, 309-foot structure built to show the lifestyles and hardships of the pioneers crossing Nebraska. Advances in communication took place as well, such as the telegraph. It was on July 16, 2000, that the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument was dedicated to the “Strength of the Pioneer Spirit – Courage, Hope, Heroism, and Vision.”
