Go on line to honoluluadvertiser.com and checked out their TGIF section -- also HonoluluWeekly.com, and also WardCenters.com, plenty to do, Polynesian Cultural Center for immersion in Culture - - - Aim for visiting at the start of the month and check out 'First Friday' downtown, and then go windward side the next Saturday for 'First Saturday' in Kailua. Naturally the Beach, and if you want adventure then make a tour of beaches -- Ala Moana for swimming, Kailua for Windsurfing, North Shore for Surfing.

Helicopter tours can be entertaining by pricey. Try hang gliding on The North Shore.

Peace...

Ala Moana
Diamond Head
Hanauma Bay
Honolulu
Honolulu Academy of Arts
North Shore
Pearl Harbor
Polynesian Cultural Center
USS Arizona Memorial
USS Missouri
Waikīkī
Sea Life Park
Valley of the temples
Dole Pineapple Plantation

The helicopter rides are worth it if you are going to be filming the scenary and it all depends on what islands you are going to also. There are all kind of coupon books along the stands in waikiki and they have coupons for airplane rides. The things listed above are only for honolulu for the island of oahu. I would also suggest getting a car because taking the city bus you will be waiting for awhile and taxi's are expensive out this way.
