Idea’s on where to stay in Hawaii?
kiwi asked:
Hi, Im trying to get some idea’s about where to stay in Hawaii? Ive never gone before so i know nothing about a good safe place/resort?
This trip will be for my almost 60 year old mother and I. So we are looking for a relaxed environment, with activities on site or close by.
Some place for adults to go and just soak up the sun.
Maybe a place where there are some cute shops to poke around in.
No super Clubs please,or Club med’s.
We are not drinkers so we don’t want a crazy place with a lot of teens.
Any idea’s would be much appreciated . Thanks and Happy Holidays.

Kauai, Molokai, avoid Oahu too many people there

We stayed on three islands (Kauai, Oahu & Hawaii – big island) and we had nothing but wonderful experiences on all three.
On Oahu, we stayed at the Hale Koa, but that’s a military-only hotel. There are a LOT of really great hotels nearby so shop around…. On Kauai we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Kapaa; VERY laid back and there are all sorts of cute little shops to visit closeby. On the big island again we stayed at a military hotel (KMC) but there are a lot of really nice hotels in both Kona and Hilo…depending on which side of the island you want to visit. Both have a LOT of fun shopping opportunities. I personally preferred Hilo side.
You can read more about what we did on the big island (which was a LOT!) by checking out another of my answers (search “What to do in hawaii?” posted by MissKT … sorry, Yahoo won’t let me post a link to my other answer!).
Whatever you plan, just have a good time…that’s what a vacation’s for after all!
