Nice hotels for a great price in hawaii?

sugar asked:

I am planning for a vacation to Hawaii for my boyfriend and I in late September / early october. I only have 1 week off and would like to relax and yet do some exciting activities. I am particulary intersted in Oahu. It’s seems as though there is a lot to do there. I am trying to find a Nice hotel for the best price possible. I would perfer to stay on the beach and I am willing to spend a little more, I just don’t want to spend an excessive amount. Any advice on hotels? Is the weather decent in September / October?
Thanks!!

    Aloha,

September and October are actually very good times to visit Hawaii. It is coming out of the dryer Summer season but before the wetter Winter season. It is also off peak so there should be plenty of deals.

All of the hotels that are directly on the beach on Oahu are going to be a bit pricey. My favorite Waikiki hotel is the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. In terms of price, quality and location I would have to rate this as the best. It also has a very popular restaurant bar and grill on the beach called Duke’s Canoe Club which is very popular with both visitors and locals. In fact, Jimmy Buffet actually has a song about it on one of his albums called “Dukes on Sunday”. If this hotel is too pricey and you do not mind being across the street from the beach (with no hotels in front of you though) then you might want to take a look at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. Here are links to both hotels from a website which posts comments from folks who have been there recently.

Try the Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki. It’s right across the street from the beach and most of the rooms have really nice ocean views. We had a city view room and could still see the ocean! Even the city view is pretty at night. The Pacific Beach is on a great stretch of Kalakaua Ave. (the “main drag” in Waikiki) and you can walk to everything: International Marketplace, restaurants, bars, shopping, bus stops, and Waikiki Beach! It’s not the most expensive hotel on Kalakaua and therefore not the fanciest, but it’s nice, the service is good, and the location is fantastic! I was just there for a conference two weeks ago and had a blast. My only “complaint” would be that the pool area sucks, but the jacuzzi isn’t half bad and who needs a pool anyway with the ocean right across the street?

    Aloha! :)
